why i love montana

we just got back from the greatest vacation ever. and while those of you who know me realize that i am prone to superlatives more than any other person in the entire universe, this time i mean it. the best vacation ever.

here are a few reasons why:

the fishing was unbelievable. i caught 20"+ rainbow trout every night.

it was fun for the whole family.

the hiking was amazing. we were constantly in awe of God's creation.

it was restful. this was one of the major agenda items. (the amount of pasty leg shown may be a violation of the terms of service agreement...my bad)

the funny thing is, every time we go away on one of our alpine adventures, the talk immediately turns to the "what-will-it-take-to-move-here" conversation. we actually mapped out a 12 year plan that would put us in either bigfork, missoula, or bozeman where kara would teach and i would be a fly-fishing guide and we would live in a simple condo/townhouse and go hiking every weekend and make fresh huckleberry jam every july and narrowly avoid being mauled by a 1000 lb bruin and...well, i think you get the picture.

quien sabes? maybe someday. but for now, the occasional tourist trek will have satisfy the craving.

tomorrow i'll get back to that genesis stuff.

First, your dog looks completely stoned. Second, Montana looks like the choicest, coolest, finest, foremost, greatest, leading, matchless, nonpareil, number one, optimum, outstanding, paramount, peerless, perfect, pre-eminent, super, superlative, supreme, terrific, transcendent, unequalled, unparalleled, unrivalled place on Earth. Third, I look forward to Genesis. You should have plenty of insight into creation after your time in the back country

indeed he is stoned out of his mind. we scored some weed in bigfork and got him totally baked every day. or he might have been tired.

the best part of being in such a awesome chunk of God's creation is that it leaves you speechless. i am a man of too many words, so speechless is a really good thing for me.
